Our Engagement Story…

Boy meets girl…Girl meets boy, boy decides one day that he needs to spend a lot of money on a ring, get down on one knee, and they live happily ever after!  Well that’s how “normal” people do things and if you know anything about us, we are not of the norm and nothing is a small production!  So here is our story from the beginning.

We met in the early spring of 2013, and at the time Johnthan was traveling quite a bit and I was consumed in my role as a single Mom to Sebastian. The first year that we dated we traveled several thousand miles together and neither one of us wanted to kill each other so that was a good sign!!  As time went by our relationship developed and in February 2016, Johnathan gave me a lovely gift, a trip to London.  I know how romantic!!!  What I didn’t realize at the time is that Johnathan was planning more than just a trip to London, he was planning the most over the top proposal he could.

The readers digest version (hahaha)…On the morning of Monday November 21, 2016 it was cold and rainy, I wasn’t feeling 100% as the jet lag was catching up with me.  But we continued on our day knowing that at 2pm we had a private tour at St. Paul’s Cathedral.  This is the same Cathedral that Princess Diana married Charles in 1981 (I was 6…..)!!  The church is stunning in every way, and of course iconic to the London Skyline. But with the rain cloud hoovering over us, it was dark, gloomy, my jeans were soaked with rain water, and I couldn’t feel my hands from the cold, it was putting me in a very fussy mood.  I was looking forward to this “private tour” and being inside with a a bunch of Royals (dead ones…but a royal is a royal).   When we arrived at the steps, I knew that Johnathan was up to something far more than a tour. There were all these presents and little notes waiting for me throughout the journey to the top. We climbed  580+ stairs  to the top of St. Paul’s and it was about that time the skies opened up and it was a magnification view and the platinum and diamond surprise well worth the journey. Of course I said yes!!!
